The Tomah Area School District has the following vacancy beginning in the 2024-2025 school year:

Elementary Self-Contained Special Education EBD Teacher – Miller Elementary
Tomah Area School District is seeking an innovative educator who can work collaboratively with colleagues, develop positive relationships with students and parents, and build partnerships with the community.  This position requires a dynamic and progressive teacher who has a strong background in:  1) RtI and PBIS, 2) Professional Learning Communities, and 3) Differentiated Instruction.  The preferred candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized and demonstrate a positive attitude.  Knowledge of special education programs, processes, and procedures is preferred, especially functional behavioral assessments and behavior intervention plans.  This position requires strong behavior management skills with training and/or experience in working with students with behavioral and/or emotional difficulties.  Candidates must have knowledge of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI or ProACT) strategies and techniques, or willingness to be trained.  Background in mental health practices is also preferred.
 
This is a full-time position beginning in the 2024-25 school year.  Co-curricular coaching and advisor positions are available. 
 
Qualifications:  Must have, or be eligible for, a Wisconsin DPI license #1830 (Emotional Behavioral Disability) or #1801 (Cross-Categorical Special Education).  Applicants who hold a valid regular education DPI Teaching certification in any area and are interested to pursue an emergency special education license for this position, may also apply.
