Duties

• Cleans rooms, corridors, stairways, and other areas. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, strips and polishes using light and heavy-duty powered equipment. Cleans, and dusts assigned areas. Empties trash.
• Operates industrial equipment to clean rugs, drapes, etc. Performs routine maintenance of equipment. Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes toilet facilities.
• Changes linens. Washes walls, windows, blinds and ceiling fixtures using ladders, scaffolds and safety belt. Moves heavy furniture.
• Maintains stock of room and cleaning supplies to perform assigned duties. Works independently under general supervision to accomplish assigned work.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para2.
• Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
• Must meet physical requirements of the position. Pre-employment physical required.
• Physical Effort: Standing and walking on hard and carpet surfaces. Bending, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling items or carts weighing up to 20-40 pounds, and occasionally over 50 pounds.
• Working Conditions: Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors. Exposure to inclement weather, heat, cold, and dirty conditions. Exposed to skin irritants from strong cleaning solutions. Work on ladders and moving furniture.
• Meet state age requirements (16) to perform duties of the position.
• This is a 7-day operation, work schedule will vary based on the needs of the activity. Nights, weekends and holidays are required.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Must have knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties listed above to include the ability to use and maintain the tools and equipment of the trade, to keep the assigned work area neat and clean, and to communicate both orally and in writing.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":

• A minimum of one year custodial, janitorial or maintenance work experience.
• Experience using commercial cleaning equipment.
